We’re living and having fun, and simply just running out of time. Twenty four hours in a day and it just seems like each hour passes faster than the one before. We had a great weekend.
We were lucky to see Jewel at the Britt. The Britt is an outdoor venue that seats just shy of 6000 people. You can choose lawn seating or the reserved seating, and you are welcome to bring your own picnic basket, bottle of wine or drink of choice, and just be while enjoying the show. The Britt is located in the quaint little town of Jacksonville, just about 15 minutes away. It’s just kinda wonderful. You can sit under the stars and watch your artist of choice. Well, this is our 3rd visit over the years and each time to see Jewel. Her talent is so raw, honest and real. Just Jewel and her guitar under the stars, perfection it was. With all her beautifully written songs, it was inspiring. If you’re not a Jewel fan, I can’t help but recommend. If you would like to hear the show I saw, send me an email and I can send you a copy of it via email. It was a great night, and it’s still making me smile today. And did I mention, we were in the 5th row!
The next morning, we woke early to drive a beautiful route to Klamath Falls. So pretty and green.

Gage was playing in his All Star tournament and I was happy to be able to catch his last game.
Got this just as he was catching the ball.
Jake was running around -
and you better watch it, or you may get shot with water!
Mr Happiness always makes us smile.
So damn cute.
And we were right next to the Base, so we had a nice air show.
Kev and I were happy to see a BNSF train come by. Kevin’s Dad worked for the BNSF railroad for 20+ years. I think it was Kevin's Dads way of saying hi as it passed by. I think he planned it all the way from the heavens.
I was happy to be able to have Gage come over for a sleepover. He’s always busy between baseball and karate so I was able to book him at my place for a night in between the two. It was so nice to have him over, because he’s never had a sleepover at Auntie Nanu’s. We had a great time! We played Family Feud, had a AWESOME tennis match, I spoiled him with however much food he wanted, frozen treats at Sonic, free realm of the hot tub and he practically begged to get on that treadmill. (Wish I was begging for it) It was great to spend time with him. It was nice to listen to him play some songs on Uncle Kevin’s guitar too. We had some great talks about him starting his own business, and teaching guitar lessons. (This was all his idea) He even mentioned maybe Uncle Kevin could build him a shed or shack or something, so his teaching time would be uninterrupted. (Priceless) He asked if I knew how to place an ad in the paper too. I think we have one fine businessman in the family! When asking him how much he wanted to charge for these so called lessons, his reply was “I would not want to charge anything; I just want to help kids live their dream.” So, OK maybe not a businessman but rather a pretty great kid with a big huge heart.
We turned the heat off to the spa, and he had his own personal pool.
And of course, we had to break out the popcorn machine.
and like oh-my-gosh it was really good.
We looked at pictures too, and as we came across the Shrek Party we had, he said he will never forget that. Who knew a little Shrek party would make such memories? I’m lucky to get to spend time with these kids. My whole goal when having them over is to give them a little day or two filled with fun, but in turn little do they know, they are giving me so much more. Many more parties and time at Auntie Nanu’s to come!
Big news at our place last weekend! You know, I grew up with brothers so the dirty work also known as lawn mowing, was so not my department. Oh sure, I did my fair share of cleaning, dishes, etc but I never had to mow a lawn. Because you know that involved getting dirty, and being close to bugs and stuff. Well, now I got that husband and again it’s so not my department, but secretly I have been wanting to give it a shot. Even had it on my bucket list. Much to my husband’s surprise I took that trusty red mower out of his hands, and I tackled the back yard. So what if my lines were not straight, as my husband was sure to let me know, but I do know I can now cross that off my list! It was kinda fun, until the bag got full and heavy. Thank goodness he was there to empty it for me. I might even do it again, but ssshhhh don’t tell anyone.
And Isn't this what weekends are all about? Next weekend I get a whole 3 days off to celebrate Independence Day. How lucky we are to live in the good ole USA. Celebrate Big!
