Catching Up

Almost two months to the day since I have last blogged.
Time slips away faster and faster as I get older.
I don't know how that happens, but make it stop already.

A whole hella-of-a-lot of stuff has been whirling around
in my little world.

We returned home from our fabulous trip to Naples at the end of
September, and we were just getting over the fact that vacation
is such that, a vacation. Our dreams of making vacation life
our regular life were just fading. Then we moved ..

Got a place a little more out of the hustle & bustle.
We landed just in time to take in the beautiful colors.

Photobucket

And we get visitors here. Especially in the early mornings and late
at night. Sometimes they are alone, and sometimes they bring their
whole family. We are always welcoming.

Photobucket

As we are still trying to get settled in, and unpacked, I took some
time this weekend to empty my camera from the last eight weeks. I made
a makeshift computer station at the table where the light was plenty.
I smiled and laughed as I looked through them all.

Photobucket

Lets push that Rewind button .....
Fall Ball came and went.

Pop-Fly's were caught and applauded.
And I was secretly excited I had the camera
out and ready at that exact moment.

Photobucket

In between games, hearty burgers were inhaled.
And photo ops were given to appease their favorite Auntie.

Photobucket

Wandering eyes were there to scour the crowd, to know
they had their cheering squad there.

Photobucket

And indeed, we always have a cheering section at those fields.

Photobucket">

And this photo, I love. This boy will always make you smile.
Whether you are from afar or not, it never fails.
I wish I could bottle him up, and keep him this way forever.

Photobucket ">

And its rare to catch this guy off the field during games,
so I took the opportunity.

Photobucket

And Halloween was celebrated ...
We had a bright blue eyed little Dorothy
who was ready to really experience her
first go around.

Photobucket

And you try to get 6 kids all in the same place at once,
well it doesn't work very well, and I came out with this.
You get the idea anyway.

Photobucket

And .. I went to my first ever basketball game.
And an exciting one at that.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Gage #12, yup . He's one of ours.

Photobucket

Photobucket

And on Turkey day, we had lots of Turkey.
And Dad didn't leave not one empty spot on that plate.

Photobucket

Alyssa was all smiles.

Photobucket

Mr Happiness shows off handmade turkeys ..
And really, isn't this what its all about?

Photobucket

And the oldest & youngest had their smiles.

Photobucket

Birthdays came and went.
Dad turned the big 60!

Photobucket

Lindsay is now officially a quarter of a century.
A whole 25.
She loves our singing. She really secretly does.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I think she liked her gift!

Photobucket

Oh yes. Yes, we pile the entire
clan into the Olive Garden. They usually
give us our own room. Wonder why?

Photobucket

And last Sunday, I actually had the time to pick up the paper.
With the move, and a heavy work schedule, its normal to have those
papers stacked up for 4 or 5 days at a time. But on this day, I got to it.
Its a good thing I did.

Its kinda a big deal to make the honor role.
I'm so proud of you Gage, and all your hard work!

Photobucket

And so there you go. A whole 2 months all totaled up into
a little blog post. I left a whole lot out, but I had to start
somewhere. And I solemnly swear to do better. The camera
is empty awaiting more memories.

And as if I wasn't tired of unpacking already, its now time to go unpack
some Christmas decorations!

Fa La La. Fa La freakin La.

Happy December.

Vacation, Part 1

There are not enough words. The beauty we saw, the laughs we had, the adventure across the country was more then we hoped for. Naples delivered in a big way. It captured our hearts and had us at the first moment we stepped off the plane.

From Kaleidoscope skies to the warm salty water .. all I can say is ... oh my.

Photobucket

As plans didn’t quite go as planned for our trip to Europe this September, we were left with a blank canvas to come up with another destination. After a little bit of research and scoping out some beach locations, we ended up in Naples, Florida. I had read a lot about it from another blogger who is lucky enough to live there. Week after week, I am left drooling over the photos of where she gets to call home, so there was no better option.

Not only were the husband and I looking for a little vacation, we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary from a few months back. We needed a little something extra this time around. We scheduled our time off, and scored ourselves a little beach house for two weeks.

A perfect little beach house.
Nothing fancy, but oh so perfect.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Full of lush greens and palm trees galore.

Photobucket

And perfect pink flowers.

Photobucket

We had late night barbeque's, with Pina Coladas none the less.

Photobucket

And this oh so perfect pool.

Photobucket

The long day of travel from Oregon to Florida was so worth it. We enjoyed every minute of this place. The beauty out did itself. Naples is in South West Florida overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The water was a nice 80ish degrees.

We drove through all the fancy neighborhoods and found hidden beaches
tucked away the end of culd-a-sac's.
A nice little beach away from the big buildings and crowds.
Theres nothing better then having the place to yourself.

Photobucket

It was the same ole routine each day, grabbing some breakfast and some days it was just some coffee and Dunkin Donuts, but we were on that beach each morning by 9. We didn’t do much but have endless conversations, worship the sun and draw pictures in the sand. It doesn’t take much us for us. A little ocean with our toes in the sand, and we are happy.

And seeing the American Flag at impromptu locations, gets me every time.
I stop and recognize it, and know that I'm damn lucky to live where there is beauty like this.

Photobucket

The skies up above are the bluest of blue. I have never seen a sky so blue. And those cotton candy like clouds move so fast ... I would just sit and watch them pass all day long.

Photobucket

Our beach that we visited each night for sunset, was covered in thousand of shells. I've been lucky enough to hit up lots of beaches up and down the West coast and in Hawaii, and I have never seen so many shells.

Photobucket

Sunsets each day are magical. It’s nothing but love painted across the sky each night. The whole world stops to stare when the sun is setting. And you never know from day to day what beautiful masterpiece you will see. Clouds or no clouds, each one is unique.

Take your pick ..

and my favorite ...

Photobucket

And this is our crazy attempt of taking our own pictures.
We had fun, and they make us laugh, and that's all that matters.

These feature the real us, you know the ones that feature our laugh lines because we have had many years of fun, and those crows feet are there to show everyone that sometimes we can laugh so hard till we cry, and yes if you look real hard you'll see the grey, that's what happens when you have to work so hard to get a little vacation like this. But I must say .. oh so worth it. and I'll be doing it all over again.

Photobucket

Hawaii is gorgeous, but Naples my dear, you have sold us.
We lived, we laughed, and can't wait to go back.

Stay Tuned for Part 2, to find out about our
trip to Miami.

Celebrate .. The BoYs of SuMMer.

The long lingering days of constant sunshine are coming to an end.
My back patio that has had bright sunshine to almost 7 is now long
gone by 6. I found this out tonight as I grabbed a magazine out of
the stack of mail to run out there and catch the setting sun. I got
all situated and then it hit me .. the sun wasn't there anymore. big sigh.
I read an article anyway, and I left that damn magazine out there
in hopes I'll get that extra 20 minutes tomorrow. As we are preparing
to get up to 101 this weekend, I know it will be one of the last. The
mornings are cooler, and that hot chocolate I've had nicely tucked in
the back of my pantry needs to make its way to the front again.

As we get sprinkled with our last freckles of the season these next few
weeks, I wanted to share some highlights from our summer of birthdays.
Cake Fights, Bat Races, and the Limbo. Fun times were had. Memories were
made, and fun times were spent with family and friends.

Gage, Jake and Bryan all turned another year older.
Wiser they are, and they make me laugh more then ever.
How ever did they grow up so fast?

Photobucket

Minute to Win It. Have you seen it?
Awesome show and Gage's party was all about some fun games.

How many dice can you stack on the Popsicle stick?

Photobucket

Grab a cookie, put it on your forehead and try and get that into your mouth with no hands. Fun times.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Life is sometimes about sitting afar and watching them have their fun,
and catching those expressions when they don't know your
watching. These are the moments that will stick with ya.

Photobucket

Be sure to Dance even if it's just the limbo.

Photobucket

And when you get cake thrown in your face,
laugh it off.

Photobucket

And don't forget to stop and cherish the most important moments.

Photobucket

Mr. Happiness never fails to turn
our frown upside down.

Photobucket

Bat Races. Close your eyes and spin your head
on that bat and then try to run.

Photobucket

Fun times!

Photobucket

Drunk on chocolate donuts.

Photobucket

Even when you don't know the outcome,
you still gotta go down swingin'.

Photobucket

Smart boy. Taking some time to take it in.

Photobucket

It's nice when we can all get together to
CeLeBrAtE. Mike & Mae.

Photobucket

Bryan checkin' out his goods.

Photobucket

Dad pointing out the features.

Photobucket

Give this boy anything Ben 10 and
its like winning the lottery!

Photobucket

I think he's a happy boy.

Photobucket

Ms Katie adapts well with all these boy
parties. She's a girly girl, but she'll play
in the dirt with the best of them.

Photobucket

Another Summer of fun memories.
Live it up.
Peace Out.
