Good Intentions

Christmas came and went (which I still need to blog about), and we dove straight into 2012. I started the year with good intentions. Good intentions of pounding out a blog or two a week, exercise an hour a day, turn my house into a home and quit the damn soda addiction. Well, I'm half way there and that's something. Six weeks and no soda and I no longer crave it. {Check} The house is surely turning into a home. {Check}

This week I'm heading into making the other two things a priority. February 1, I'm starting an exercise challenge for myself. One hour a day for 30 days. I read something in one of those fitness magazines, that if you can struggle through those 30 days then it will just happen naturally after that. I know, I know .. I'm not suppose to believe everything I read, but I'm going with it.

I'm also working on a complete blog overhaul these next couple of weeks, and with regular posts again. Stay tuned.

Speaking of turning my house into a home, I'm addicted to Etsy. However I'm not addicted to their prices. I found this great laundry sign and after I saw the $60 price tag, I tackled it myself. Wasn't too hard to create and then printed it poster size at the Walgreens and picked up this frame at the Goodwill, and the husband painted it. A little less then $15 and looks just as good as the $60 one. I [heart] it.

As things are turning into "normal" again and routines are being regulated, I got to spend some time with the little's this week. I started the week going to watch Gage in his Karate class. Impressive he is. His strength and admiration are unspeakable. It still boggles me on how he has grown into this young man, when it just seems like yesterday I was changing his diapers. It was great to see him in his element. I do know one thing though, I wouldn't want to mess with him!

I ended the week with Mr Happiness aka Casey. His smiles are contagious. His energy is abundant. We made some cookies, and he turned into quite the little Cookie Monster, gobbling up almost all of them. And since there are no rules at my place for these little's, it was quite normal to have as many cookies before dinner, and then for breakfast the next morning too.

He took this cookie making seriously. He is not shy to let you know that he is the best cookie cooker ever!

And hard work it was, he was sure to rest up after that hard work. And isn't this what weekends are all about? Put your feet up, and relax! Happy Weekend.

  1. I've given up soda as well and honestly, I don't really miss it. And I'm doing thirty minutes exercise a day (working up to an hour) and have replace my morning coffee with hot water and lemon - this was the hardest bit but I have to say, my skin is looking really nice.
    Best of luck with all of your good intentions :-)
